Follow Joe's Personal Selections!
We are thrilled to announce the release of Joe’s Playlist, a collection of small releases available exclusively online. From each series of Single Barrels and Private Releases, Joe will make a selection or set of selections that embodies that specific project or lot of barrels. As most of our Single Barrels and Private Releases go to one specific retailer or club, this is our way of offering special picks to our friends and supporters regardless of where they reside. There are only 130-180 bottles per “Track”, and a limit of 2 bottles per track per person. We can’t wait to hear what you think. The first three “Tracks” on Joe’s Playlist will become available just as this email goes out and can be ordered here. We have no idea how long they will be available. Joe’s Playlist Track #1 “Hungarian Fair” Private Release Whiskey AH02, finished in a Tokaji Barrel 121.42 proof On the nose, Private Release AH02 reminded Joe of the smells and tastes he remembers from county fairs. Corn on the cob, funnel cake, strawberry milkshakes. We named it for two things: that particular set of olfactory sensations and the country the finishing barrel came from. Joe’s Playlist Track #2 “Genesis” 4-Year-Old Single Barrel Indiana Rye MG01 119.56 proof Rye Single Barrel MG01 has been waiting to be released in our distillery for almost a year. It wins any blind taste we do. It was, in some ways, the impetus for Joe’s Playlist, and so it is named “Genesis”. Joe’s Playlist Track #3 “Spice Exotica” 13-Year-Old High Rickhouse aged TN Bourbon D322 113.62 proof Bourbon Single Barrel D322 is zippy, spicy, and sharp, all things that Joe loves. We named it for its multiple layers of exotic spices. Pink peppercorns, cloves, cardamom… this barrel is no quick experience, its pallet is a long trip for sure. Join members of the Barrell Blending Team when we taste these in July. Follow us on Eventbrite so you can see when this tasting is scheduled. Here Now
Our first 24 Private Release Whiskeys, the AH Series, have been released across the country. These 24 unique blends focus on a series of 18-year-old Kentucky Whiskey, and each is finished in its own secondary barrel or cask. Some of the finishes include Ice Wine, Sauternes, PX Sherry, Armagnac, Scotch, and Calvados. Our next group of Private Release Whiskeys, the BH Series, is slowly making its way across the country as well. If you're interested in learning where to purchase these barrels, check our Whiskey Private Release page where we list their locations. (We've begun listing the locations of the Private Release rums here as well.)
